INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND In 2006, Boise State University was awarded $500,000 by the U.S. Department of Energy to fund wind energy research in Idaho. As part of the wind energy grant, Boise State University has entered into a cooperative agreement with the owners of the Lewandowski Wind Farm to use their facility as a test bed for wind energy research. The Lewandowski Wind Farm is located southeast of Boise Idaho and currently operates three Micon 108 kW turbines.
