BA 638 Assignment 8.3 Title: A labor organization or not? Smiley Joe was a computer software programmer for a major IT firm called Out-tech. Out-tech’s employee records show that Smiley is an above-average programmer in terms of performance, general attitude and technical skill. After working for Out-tech for five years, Smiley and a few of his co-workers heard a rumor that the firm was bringing in two consultants who will attempt to “right size” the organization. Upon hearing about the right-sizing initiative, several of Out-tech’s employees began posting messages on the company’s electronic bulletin board. The messages could be characterized as complaints that showed an obvious fear of termination by the consultants. Smiley came up with the idea to hold a private meeting with all interested and concerned employees invited. Smiley posted an anonymous message to the electronic bulletin board and told employees they could get more info about the meeting by joining “Concerned Out-tech Employees” club via Facebook.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
