Leading Disease Related Deaths in U.S. in 1990 1. Cardiovascular Disease—43% a. Heart Attack—23% b. Stroke—7% c. Other –13% 2. Cancer 23% Increases Longevity Physically inactive have 31% greater risk of death from all causes than physically active. Reduces Risk for Heart Disease heart disease is the leading cause of death. Cancer is second. Reduce High Blood Pressure cardiovascular disease. Hypertension. The older you get the more likely you will have blood pressure. Men have high blood pressure more at a younger age than women. Reduce Risk for Stroke
