Courage By Garrett Koos Courage can be looked at in two different ways. There can be courageous acts, and there can be courageous people. A courageous person is simply looked at as someone who does courageous acts continuously out of habit. In one of the discussions of Phillips, one of the participants states, “Anyone who tries to rescue someone, in a situation where he could die, obviously values the other persons life at least as much as he values his own. He doesn’t put himself above them in any way. I think that takes great humility. It makes me think that if all the terrorists and all the others who eagerly have waged war throughout history, put strangers lives on the same level as their own, there wouldn’t be so many acts of this nature.” This is a very accurate look at what courage is as an act, and as a person. On a broader level, courage can be looked at as a form of sacrifice. Looking at how it was interpreted above, courage is risking your own life for a strangers life. The
