Defining terms: Morpheme : A morpheme is the smallest meaningful unit of English, that is, the smallest piece of a word that contributes to the grammatical meaning or function of a word. i.e. the word passed has two morphemes: pass and -ed. Word : Word is the meaningful expression of minimum normally separable form, in writing, it appears as a stretch of alphabets with space either side, but no space within it.
