Lab 13: Intro to FPGA Chris Reilly Lab Partner: Jeffrey Griffith The George Washington University ECE 2140 Section 30 GTA: Jie Chen Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to become more familiar with the Digilent Basys FPGA board and learn how to make pin assignments, as well as program and run programs on the board. Introduction: The primary objective of this lab was to become more familiar with the FPGA board by coding and running a simple program using the board. Our group began by verifying that the jumper JP3 was connected over JTAG and that the switch SW8 was on VUSB. Next, we connected the board to the computer and, using the Digilent Adept software, ran the test program on the board. Our group then programmed the half_adder program to the board and assigned the needed pins. After programming the board, our group tested the program and found it acted as a regular half adder circuit. Lastly, our group wrote and tested a program called io_test to meet the following specifications: When either switch SW5 or switch SW6, but not both of them, is high, LED LD6 turns
