Unformatted text preview: Jonathan Grant SPCH 116.003 Vocal Role Model Assignment Ms. Chavis 9/14/09 One nationally known individual I chose was Barack Obama. Obama’s vocal characteristics appeal to me, and I consider him my vocal role model. Obama is known around the world as the 44 th President of the United States of America. From the moment I witnessed Obama’s speech on election-night, he became my vocal role model. Another nationally known figure is rapper, Soulja boy. I have listened to his music throughout the past couple years, and he is not somebody I would want to emulate in the case of speaking. His vocal characteristics are very unattractive. From Obama’s speech on election-night to all his speeches thereafter, I noticed that they were all very similar when it came to the vocal qualities. The volume and quality of his voice always fill the whole room or setting, no matter where he is.
