Jonathan Grant 10/22/2010 SP : The specific purpose is to give thanks for my Grammy award for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (without orchestra). CI : I want the audience to walk away remembering that I was very grateful in my acceptance to several people and also the influences that helped shape my pianist skills. Introduction : Thank you mother. Thank you father. Thanks are to John Legend, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and of course the fans. Who would’ve thought I’d be here at this point in my life. I know I didn’t, especially not a few years ago when I was still attending college where this honor was the furthest thing from my mind. And yet the slim possibility of this night was still holding on for dear life in my deepest thoughts. There are plenty of people that deserve thanks and credit tonight for what I’ve achieved, and I’d be up here for two days running my mouth giving regard to all these fabulous people. But, I’m going to shed light on just a few that really matter the most here tonight. There are the people that are
