Female labor force participation – social and political consequences Source: Ross Definition: There are three types of female labor: household labor, informal work force, and formal work force. The most important way for women to enable for themselves crucial economic and socio-political changes is by entering the formal work force. Once they start financialy contributing to their families’ needs, their identity and importance changes within their families and within their societies. Once the parents know that their girls have a prospect of earning their own income, they are more eager to send their girls to schools and invest more in their health. The more educated the girls are, the more they know about the reproductive health and the less children they will have. Furthermore, their work will also create an incentive for them to delay their parenthood. Additionally, women who work in factories are surrounded by many other women, and this strengthens their social networks, gain more self-confidence and start exchanging
