Gladys Knight and the Pips There are drums, piano, guitar, vocals, and backup vocals. It sounds old because the instruments don’t sound as clear to me and kind of blend in more as an overall sound more than anything. The drums are more in the back ground and don’t have a clear attack. They sound mushy and brash. They aren’t dominating in the sense that the vocals seem to be the most important aspect of this song. The drums have the same volume as all the other instruments as well. The piano is an instrument that stands out to me because it stands out more than the other instruments. Besides the solo for the saxophone, the piano has a more dominate role because it stays consistent throughout the songs. Other instruments have their highs and lows compared to the vocals but the piano stays consistent. When I close my eyes, I can’t imagine myself being in the room, it sounds so old that I cant help but listen to it as nothing more than headphones and Youtube.

They are harsh and the volume of them is much louder than Gladys Knights. The electric piano is the other instrument that I can clearly hear in the beginning and throughout the song just like the Gladys Knight version. I can hear other string instruments but it seems like there are a bunch of them. When listening to this, I can picture myself in the same room in close proximity. The overall track is strong and crisp. The vocals are also louder but the instruments don’t sound faded into the back....
