Nicholas Connolly and Chris Wideman Eng 111- Writers Memo Ms. Woods 11/5/08 Writers Memo As we were looking through the list of Public Service Announcements we found that the most interesting topic would to do gangs. Gangs have been a serious problem in America in the last decade and every year the numbers grow and grow. Gang violence doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, so we thought of three different points of view to target the stopping of gang violence. The three audiences we chose were pre- teens who haven’t yet joined a gang, ex-gang members who want out, and the community giving boys and girls a place to go instead of joining a gang. For the pre-teens that haven’t joined a gang yet, we spoke about the dangers and violence that comes from gangs. Even though it is tempting because it seems like a brotherhood bond, in reality it is almost a death or prison sentence. We talked about how they should get involved in other activities outside of school and also stress that even though their friends might be joining
