Bus 101 Group Bus 101 Dr. Barr 4/6/2009 Citigroup Group Project Our group chose this article because bonus compensation is a very important issue to understand in this tough economical time. Unlike similar situations such as AIG, GM, or Chrysler, Citigroup’s compensation is a much more legit issue, which makes it not only interesting, but also unique. Our article is about Citigroup Inc. compensating $13 million to almost 4,000 employees in their Primerica Financial Services and Smith Barney branches. Just a few months earlier, they had received a bailout from the government in rescue funds that totaled $45 billion. There is a serious issue of business ethics that arises because many do not think that Citigroup should be giving taxpayer’s money away when their company needed a $45 billion bailout from the government. We learned about business ethics in class, so we thought this would be an article we could understand and enjoy. Also, the article relates to many case problems we do in class and
