Nicholas Connolly FSW 281 Ms. Daughety 10/18/2011 CDC Observation #1 Last Tuesday, October 11 th, 2011 at 3:35, I spent my first hour at the Oxford CDC. As I walked into the school, a homey feeling came to mind as the receptionist warmly greeted me and then preceded to walk directly into the big, open living room area. After getting use to the CDC, I found the Purple observation room where I was about to begin my first observation room on a group of 3-5 year olds. As I walked into the observation room I notice that the kids were sitting in a circle while their instructor was trying to organize them calmly before they went outside to play. It took a while for the instructor to get them to sit still and be quiet, and I understand why because I remember as a young child when I knew it was time to go outside and play, the last thing I could do was sit still and listen. As the children fidgeted around in the circle, the instructor used a method of how to organize them in a straight line. The instructor had a letter book and went through the alphabet. If your first name start with the letter called you were able to get up and stand in line to go outside and play. I noticed how antsy and excited the children were. Each and every one of them was staring at the book, anxiously waiting for the first letter
