The Virtual War During the Book Club: Assign a group facilitator to guide the discussion (using the questions below plus some that s/he or the group throws out there) and keep the group on track. Decide how notes will be taken -- taking notes can either be a one-person job or a shared responsibility. Here are some basic questions for the group to explore—the idea is that each group member responds to each question in such a way that it becomes a free-flowing discussion: 1. Is there any character that you relate to? Why? 2. What are the book’s major themes? 3. What are some specific examples of character behavior/thoughts that support what the textbook says about adolescent development? Why? 4. What are some specific examples of character behavior/thoughts that challenge what the textbook says about adolescent development? Why? 5. How do you feel the book’s socio-cultural context influenced/impacted the characters’ development? 6.
