Pros: 1) Increases trust. 2) Inter-ethnic cooperation. 3) Social networks. 3) Facilitates public policies. Cons: 1) Bad for ethnic minorities. 2) Power and violence. 3) War with other countries. Significance: This process aims at the unification of the people within the state so that it remains politically stable and viable in the long run. Nation-building can involve the use of propaganda or major infrastructure development to foster social harmony and economic growth.
