Introduction to Humanities – C100 Objective Assessment Study Guide
Welcome to Introduction to Humanities! We’re glad to have you in our course! In the Humanities, you will study art, literature, music, theatre, religion, architecture, and philosophy. As you might guess, the humanities are a rich, compelling subject! When we study the humanities, we study the history of human culture, our search for knowledge, and our expression of our beliefs. As we learn about these topics, we will begin to answer the question of what it means to be human. To demonstrate your competency with these topics, you will be asked to successfully pass one Objective Assessment, or exam. The Objective Assessment’s questions are drawn from the material in the MindEdge learning resource you were automatically enrolled in when you activated this course. As you’ll find, MindEdge contains six Modules (think of them as chapters in a book). You will notbe required to know all of the information in every Module, however, just what is covered by this Study Guide. How to Use This Study Guide We created this Study Guide for you as a study tool. By completing this Study Guide, you will cover the information from each Module that the Objective Assessment’s questions will ask you about. The great advantage of using this tool is that it will significantly reduce the overall study time required to pass theAssessment. You can be ready to take the Objective Assessment in 15 hours or less by using this Study Guide. To begin, print out this packet so that you can write out the information by hand. We may be an online University rich in technology, but time has shown that people always remember things better when they’re handwritten. Next, follow the instructions in each Module’s Study Guide to locate the requestedinformation from MindEdge, and then record it on the Guide (think of this as a scavenger hunt for facts!). You’ll want to be sure to record your notes in your own words – again, you’ll find that you’ll remember it better that way. Keep in mind that your Course Instructors are always available to help you as you explore MindEdge – whether it be questions about the Study Guide’s content, or the ideas you’ll read about, Course Instructors can provide you with the clarity and answers you need. We hope that you’ll enjoy learning about the different and thought-provoking realm of humanities and are looking forward to working with you as you move toward the Objective Assessment! We wish you happy studies!MODULE 1 STUDY GUIDE: The Foundations of Humanities 2
