MM2552:
Analyze the results of mathematical calculations to make financial decisions
.
MM2553:
Apply mathematical concepts to starting or running a small business
.
MM2554:

.
General Education Outcomes:
In addition, the following General Education outcomes are assessed
during this course:
GEL 1.1: Demonstrate collegelevel communication through the composition of original
materials in Standard American English.
GEL 2.3: Solve realworld problems using mathematical skills.
Criteria and Rubrics for above outcomes
MM2551:
Apply mathematical formulas to everyday business transactions
.
Evaluation Criteria
The rubric is founded on the student’s ability to apply formulas to world problems. The
rubric moves up the Bloom hierarchy from basic application to synthesizing highly
organized ideas.
Note: Assessment for this outcome will be based on the Unit 2 Instructor Graded Project.
No Progress
0
Student work demonstrates no understanding or progress towards evaluating the
formulas and solving the equations.
Introductory
1
Student work demonstrates introductory understanding or evaluating the
formulas and solving the equations. This level is evidenced by student's work
that uses the equation but not correctly.
Emergent
2
Student work demonstrates an emerging understanding or evaluating the
formulas and solving the equations. This level is evidenced by student's work
that uses the equation correctly in some situations but not all.
Practiced
3
Student work demonstrates a practiced understanding or progress towards
applying formulas and equations. This level is evidenced by student's work that
applies the appropriate formation of equations for a given situation with limited
errors that are primarily minor.
Proficient
4
Student work demonstrates proficiency in applying equations and formulas. This
level is evidenced by student's work that applies the appropriate formulas and
equations with few errors.
Mastery
5
Student work demonstrates mastery in applying equations and formulas.
This
level is evidenced by student's work that applies the appropriate formulas and
equations in real life with no errors.

Evaluation Criteria
The rubric is founded on the student’s ability to solve the present and future value of an
ordinary annuity problem. The rubric moves up the Bloom hierarchy from basic
application to synthesizing highly organized ideas.
