The course provides step-by-step guidance through sample problems and solutions related to banking, credit, basic finance and investment. Students will also gain an understanding of financial instruments and terminology used in business finance such as compound interest, annuities and promissory notes.

MM255-2: Analyze the results of mathematical calculations to make financial decisions . MM255-3: Apply mathematical concepts to starting or running a small business . MM255-4: Calculate measurements of central tendency from a data set . General Education Outcomes: In addition, the following General Education outcomes are assessed during this course: GEL 1.1: Demonstrate college-level communication through the composition of original materials in Standard American English. GEL 2.3: Solve real-world problems using mathematical skills.
