Memorandum To: Rebecca Scanlan (my friend who planned to visit China) From: Xiaojun Shu Date: March 11, 2011 Re: Where to Go to on a Trip in China As an international student from China, I’m more than excited to hear my American friend is planning to go to China for a trip. Here I want to make some suggestions to you about where to go in China so that you can make the best use of it. My suggestion is organized as follow: (a) modern and historical view of China, (b) beautiful landscapes of China, and (c) adventurous and cultural China. Modern and Historical View of China (Route: Beijing – Shanghai – Xi’an) For those people who want to have a quick view of history and nowadays of China, this route is the best choice. As the capital of China, Beijing represents China in many ways. Beijing is the heart of business and international events in China; you can very much see the modern side of China there. Also, the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and those old building will lead you to an ancient China. Then, Shanghai, as everyone knows, is the
