Goode, and I am writing this letter to not only introduce myself, but to explain my reasons for taking this course, what I hope to gain from this course, my career aspirations and provide a self-assessment of my strengths and weaknesses, I am originally from Long Island, NY and I currently work as a medical laboratory specialist. Currently, I am on active duty for the Army and I am stationed at Fort Bragg. I am taking this technical writing class to satisfy my Clinical Laboratory Science degree as well as refine my writing skills. Communication via speech and writing is very important when working in a Clinical Laboratory

One of my goals is to become a physician assistant. As a physician assistant I will be tasked with conveying technical information to medical professionals as well as patients. It is important that I am knowledgeable about the various writing styles such as APA and MLA, as well as being able to write effectively, clearly and concisely. Taking this class will allow me to achieve my goals and prepare me to be a physician assistant. Mrs. Moore, I look forward to advancing in this technical writing class and receiving constructive criticism about my writing.
