Title: Nutrient intakes and adequacy among an older population on the eastern shore of Maryland: The Salisbury Eye Evaluation Description: This report describes the reported usual dietary intakes of the participants in the Salisbury Eye Evaluation (SEE) project and to estimate the prevalence of inadequate nutrient intakes using the probability approach. To analyze dietary intake a cross-sectional survey was implemented and 2,655 participants were surveyed. The results of this study show that the elderly population have inadequate dietary intake. Also, there are differences in nutrient intake as white participants of both genders take in a higher mean average of energy and nutrients.
