1. What forms of interpersonal power are evident in the case? Provide evidence to support your answer. There are multiple forms of interpersonal power evident in this case. Specifically there is the coercive power of the mystery executive that did not like John Lasseter. This is evidenced by the executive’s power to fire Lasseter due to his dislike of Lasseter’s ideas. There is, also, the Expert power of Lasseter himself, at the end of the study. This is evidenced by Lasseter’s overall control and power over the animations arms of Pixar and Disney. 2. In what ways do the two faces of power appear in this case? The first face of power, Personal Power, appears, in this case, with the unnamed executive who ensured that the young upstart animator would be fired from Disney.
