MIS 301 (03920): Exam #2 Study Guide Materials Covered This study guide is designed to outline key terms and learning objectives from class #14 to class #26 , the scope of our Exam # 2 1 . Generally speaking, the exam will cover materials from textbook, class PowerPoint slides, and assigned articles, but this study guide will help narrow down the scope. It covers the vast majority, if not all, of the knowledge points tested in the exam. In addition to this study guide, you may also want to review the “key takeaways” from the textbook chapters. It will also help to review the reading quizzes during this period, but generally you do not need to re-read the assigned articles other than the textbook chapters. Please note that PowerPoint slides and the textbook are complementary to each other rather than substituting each other. Some terms / questions are only introduced in one source but not the other. In some situations, I mentioned some terms in slides, but did not give a rigorous definition because of space limit s . You need to refer to the textbook for accurate definitions and explanations. We will NOT directly cover contents which we have tested in Exam #1. So for the purpose of exam preparation, it might not be necessary to go over class #1 to class #12 in any detail. However, please be aware that the class has a cohesive structure, and contents in different sessions constantly build upon each other. So, having a good understanding on the concepts covered by previous exams will still help you in subsequent exams. For example, although we will not test Porter’s five forces directly, but we may still test the influence of the Internet on them as covered in class #15. Similarly, we still need to use the terminology of computer capacity such as bit, byte, KiloByte, MegaByte, GigaByte. ..etc. We will
