Hailey Holman Fight Club- In Class Essay We often hear people say, “Boys will be boys”. But what does this really mean? I think it becomes rather obvious by simply looking around at the boys and men we’re surrounded by. Men and women are very different in a number of aspects, and these differences are what make each gender unique. For example, I’ve been stuck in between older and younger brothers my entire life. While having the exact same interests as my brothers did would have made growing up much easier, my ideas of fun, among many other things, often differed from theirs. While I sometimes tried to pretend that the video games and wrestling matches were intriguing to me, they didn’t capture me in the slightest bit. Based on the events and ideas presented in Fight Club, it seems as though Chuck Palahniuk was writing towards a male audience, specifically younger. If a book truly interests a reader, they often find themselves getting lost in it. In this case, the book becomes an outlet for those who may be facing some similar problems
