Dr. Peggy A. Cloninger MGT4322 SPRING 2010 Individual Case Assignment Instructions Academic Honesty Recommendations Instructions Case Questions Academic Honesty 1. Your work on this assignment must be entirely your own. You are not to discuss the case with anyone other than the professor until the solutions have been presented and discussed by the professor. 2. The University’s policies related to Academic Dishonesty will be strictly enforced. 3. Situations in which 2 or more students are alleged to have been involved in a conspiracy to cheat will be referred to the Provost and/or Academic Council as discussed in the Student Handbook. 4. By completing and submitting this assignment, you acknowledge that you have read, and have agreed to, the above rules relating to Academic Honesty. Recommendations 1. Before you begin writing, read the instructions and the case twice. Then reread “What is a Case Analysis” and the sample summaries and essay answers provided for examples of concise and precise business writing (versus the other examples of wordy and imprecise writing). 2. As you write, fully incorporate relevant theory and concepts into your answers to maximize your score. 3. Consider ‘turning the question’ into the beginning of your answer. That is, if the question is, “What are the key issues?” begin your answer with; “The key issues” ( include or are ). This may seem simplistic, but is a very effective way to help you focus your answer on the question(s) asked and to earn full credit. 4. Consider using the free writing assistance provided by UHV. Try to submit at least one of your case answers for assistance with English grammar and writing. Instructions: Please read the instructions in their entirety before you begin writing your case. To be eligible for full credit: 1. Please do not conduct additional research on the case. 2. Please do not answer the questions in the text . 3. Please do not: i. Repeat the entire question before you begin your answer. Use this space for your answers. ii. Skip lines or include blank lines. Use these lines for your answers. iii. Use bullet or lists. Write your answers in complete sentences. iv. Exceed page limits. 4. Please do answer the case questions provided below using complete sentences. The points for each part of a question are shown in (pts). The assigned points reflect the difficulty and/or the amount of available information that is reasonably related to the question and/or should be used to answer the question. 5 . Deductions : a) Failure to type. Hand written assignments will not be accepted or graded. 100 point deduction. b) Failure to type in Word ( double-space , font size 12 Times Roman or equivalent with one- inch margins on all four sides of the case submission-top, bottom, left and right), will result in a 1-5 point deduction . c)
