The law does not require companies to disclose to their customers that they have outsourced or offshored access to their data. - The potential problems that may, and possibly already have affected companies which utilize offshore data warehousing and outsourcing are numerous. For example, if a company such as Wells Fargo sent a customer’s sensitive data overseas to India and along the way it was intercepted and copied it would bring up numerous privacy issues. However because Wells Fargo is not required to disclose what they are doing with a customer’s information, many avenues of piracy and identity theft could also occur. Also, if something were to happen to a customer’s information the largest issue would most likely be a publicity issue for the company. 2. GE wants to outsource its entire ERP system based, in part, on its successes with other outsourcing projects. Is it possible to outsource too much?-Outsourcing it a growing trend, especially among internet marketers, and it is not just business outsourcing anymore. People have even begun to outsource elements of their personal life. Outsourcing makes sense. If your time is worth $X/hr., why waste valuable time doing something that can be outsourced for just a fraction of $X/hr. When you begin to outsource your time is freed up to focus on more important matters. However, I believe there comes a point where outsourcing more tasks than a company or person normally does on average, doesn’t make sense....
