Totalitarianism – free society vs. unfree society, democracy vs. dictatorship (communist or fascist) police states, heavily indoctrinated, propaganda Volksgemeinschaft – community of the folk, evokes resonance in terms of unifying ppl into a german community, a racialized notion, that all good racial germans must come together, becomes inclusive and excusive under the Nazis, Fuhrerprinzip – principle of strong leadership, decisive, to do good for ppl of Germany, man with no past political affiliation to save Germany as the destined leader to pull Germany out of distress, the right man to solve all their problems Corporatism – fascist way to bring everyone together, workers, industries, gov, to form “corporations” for different sectors of the economy to determine the right policies for each corporation. Find ways to run the different sectors of the economy- puts national interests above self- interest, profit, self-revolution, offers a way out of their situation. Nazis claimed to save Germany from communism, rebuild Germany and walk
