Unformatted text preview: TI-83/4: TablesThe TI-83/84 graphing calculator can be used to display information in table form using two different features, called tables and lists. They have applications in different situations, so it is important to master the techniques of both. A tablecan be generated only when a formula is entered on a y = line. The values of the table correspond to the inputs and outputs generated by the formula. The table can be set to be generated automatically, or upon user input. The steps are as follows: 1) Enter a formula on a y = line. For example, enter the formula y2x5=+=+=+=+. See box 1 below. 2) Press 2nd window to access the “table set” menu. See box 2 below. 3) We can let the calculator generate a table with a given beginning input (x-value) and regular increments for the input by entering appropriate values for “table start” and “delta table”, and keeping both the “independent” and “dependent” settings on automatic. Set “tblStart = 0”, and “Δtbl = 1”. This will give the calculator an initial input of 0 to use in the formula tbl = 1”....
