What do you find challenging about high-stakes testing? What might you change or adapt to address a challenge associated with high-stakes testing?High stakes testing is a test used by educators, schools, and districts to make decisions about student learning, where test scores determine punishments, rewards, or advancements in education (Education Reform, 2014). This type of test has been used to determine whether or notstudents are able to enter into certain programs, advance to the next grade and even determine if students graduate. All throughout my education testing was always an issue for me, I was excellent student but a horrible test taker. In my career as an educator I witnessed countless of students like me and then there are others that benefit for high stakes testing. I will explore both the challenges and benefits associated with high stakes testing and considerations to the commoncore state standards to inform literacy instruction for diverse learners. Though high stakes test are needed in order to inform teachers and others educational figures about student learning, these test alone do not improve student learning. There are severalchallenges with high stakes testing and they are as follows: high stakes test do not ensure that
