Fall, 2009 (SOC. 311:06) Final Exam: Dec. 16 (Wednesday): 4 -7 PM at LSH B269 . Subjects: Survey Instrumentation (Chap. 10) Multiple Methods (Chap. 13) Evaluation Research (Chap. 14) Elementary Quantitative Data Analysis (Chap. 15) Multivariate Analysis: Elaboration Model (Chap 16) Research Ethics (Chap.3) Note: 1. There will 40 multiple choice questions and 10 true/false questions (2 points each). 2. You must use a #2 pencil to fill in the Scantron sheet. 3. The exam will be based on the lecture (all lecture slides), the textbook, and the 3rd and 4th quiz questions. Topics to study: these are broad topics to study; the actual test questions will be more specific. Survey Instrumentation 1. Two structural requirements of closed ended questions The response categories should be exhaustive and mutually exclusive (try to understand these requirements with examples) 2. Guidelines for questions (things to avoid!): double-barreled questions, biased terms (examples) Multiple Methods 3. What is a Triangulation? (definition) 4.
