An overview of the physical states of matter Gas : Volumes change significantly with pressure (compressible) Volumes change significantly with temperature (expand when heated, shrink when cooled) Gases flow freely Gases have relatively low densities. Gases form solution in any proportion (gases are miscible) - Particles are far apart (mostly empty space) Gas- Negligible attractive forces between particules -gases take the shape and olume of their containers
