PHL Tuesday, January 12, 2010 Locke on Property Rights are natural and discernible by reason - natural law/ rights that belong to persons just insofar as they are persons (moral category rather than biological - worthy of moral respect) (ex: natural justice in Aristotle) Kant: Rational agent = moral agent = person “persons” = humans, men and land owners Individuals are self governing - self sufficient as a natural condition (if people would leave each other alone everything would be fine) Rights to: Life I have life because God gave it to me, God is a trustee of this gift, He can take my life away but no one else can Person right to whatever possibilities life gives me Health controversial to do with universal human rights - includes fresh water, food, medicine (some people deny that this is a human right - puts pressure on all of us) Labour right to the physical and mental labour that the health allows me to generate Land if I exercise my labour, and mix it with my land, then I have a right to my land and it becomes mine Fruits of labour right to whatever the land produces Problems: (1) Money - how does this affect the “as much and as good” clause?

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
