Unformatted text preview: Money July 11, 2007 Radio 91.3 is fastest-growing English station By Chua Hian Hou RADIO 91.3 is the fastest-growing commercial English-language station, with improvements in most segments - often at the expense of rivals Class 95, 987FM and Power. A Nielsen Media Research report said Radio 91.3's share of the English commercial market jumped from 0.9 per cent last year to 1.6 per cent this year. According to Radio 91.3 programme director Jamie Meldrum, this is the station's best showing to date. The 16 year-old station began life as Radio Heart in 1991 under NTUC and has been operated by SPH UnionWorks since 2001. It remains the smallest station of the quartet though - MediaCorp's Class 95 retains its top spot, with a 9.4 per cent market share, down from 9.8 per cent. MediaCorp's 987FM kept its 4.2 per cent share but Safra's Power slipped slightly to 2.1 per cent from its 2.3 per cent share last year.
