The   Ministry   of   Information,   Communication   and   the   Arts   (MICA)  (www.mica.gov.sg ) Mission Statement: To Develop Singapore as a Global City for Information, Communications and the Arts,  so as to Build a Creative Economy, Gracious Community and Connected Society with a  Singaporean Identity rooted in our Multicultural Heritage.    MICA's mission has two fundamental thrusts.  1.Propelling the Creative Economy •Develop and promote our creative industries (arts and culture, design, media) and  infocomm technology sector to create new economic value and jobs. 2. Fostering a Connected Society •Forge a strong sense of community, national identity, rootedness and inclusion among  Singaporeans   by  enriching  our   arts   and   cultural  resources,  ensuring   quality  media  content, and empowering individuals through infocomm literacy and access for all. •Foster better understanding between the Government, Singaporeans, and international  stakeholders through effective public communications. Four Outcomes •A Vibrant and Self-Sustaining Creative Cluster  •A Thriving Infocomms and Media Sector  •A Sense of Community, National Identity and Rootedness Among Singaporeans •Effective Public Communications for Singapore Divisions in MICA perform various functions. Among these are:- Arts and Heritage Development Division (AHD)   To develop the arts, design, heritage and library scenes, and to realise our vision of  being a Global City for the Arts and Culture. This is done in collaboration with the  National Arts Council, National Heritage Board, National Library Board and Preservation  of Monuments Board. Creative Industries Singapore (CI.sg)   To provide strategic integration and alignment of MITA Family’s efforts in developing a  vibrant and self-sustaining creative cluster comprising arts, design and media industries. Info-Communications and Media Development Division (ICMD)  To  develop  an   economically  vibrant  and  globally   competitive   infocomm   and  media  sector. This is done in collaboration with the Infocomm Development Authority and the  Media Development Authority. Media Relations Division (MRD)
