Pavlov -russion physiologist, won nobel prize for research on digestion -classical/pavlonian conditioning – process by which an organism learns a new association between two stimuli-a neutral stimulus and one that already evokes a reflexive response Esophageal and gastric fistulae CS, US, UR, CR -conditioned stimulus (bell) --response that depends on preceding conditions -unconditioned stimulus (meat) --event that automatically elicits an unconditional response, -unconditioned response
