Common Decision Making Processes 2 In this paper we will discuss the most prevalent decision making processes used at each of our teams companies. The team will then compare and contract their companies against the other team members. Juvenile Detention Center During any given day at the juvenile detention center where I work, we use almost all the different types of critical thinking processes. Creativity thinking is done while trying to coax answers from the kids as they are processed into the system. We don’t get into the legal areas just trying to get the most common and reliable answers we can. Then we would move to organized way of thinking; during this process we would organized the answer given to ensure we get everyone in the right program and whether they need anything special or even watched more closely due to suicide risk answers. Next, we moved to logical thinking while explaining the rules and what is required of them and the different types of discipline associated with each broken rule. Then we would finally use the persuasive thinking to help calm a juvenile down or wanting to fight. Sometime we aren’t able to calm them down then they end of serving a discipline until they are better and willing to work with us. We have certain programs they must attend at the right time. After any confusion or discipline we go back and talk to the child and figure out where and what went wrong and how to adjust to it. Sometime it the kids needing to adjust and sometime it will be the program. With kids staying either over night or as long as 6 months we are there to ensure they still get the schooling and all the needed items. Operation Perfection at Southwire (OPS) Southwire, the organization I work for, uses a proactive style in the decision-making process. The company developed a system known as Operation Perfection at Southwire (OPS) to implement standardized work practices. OPS utilize collective and participative approaches to all decision-making processes. Management maintains ultimate control over most decisions,
