Here are a few examples of common problem solving methods brainstorming, trial and error, creative thinking, metaphorical thinking and the scientific method. Rotor failed to use any of the problem solving methods. What were Rotor’s problem-solving methods? I was unable to identify a problem solving method used by Rotor. Rotors decision was based on minimal knowledge of the problem. What was insufficient about his approach? Rotor did not efficiently frame the problem, outline his objective, consider the alternatives, or indentify possible solutions. What in Rotor’s background caused him to frame and solve the problem the way he did? Rotor allowed his ego and reputation cloud his judgment. His background reflected his ability to plausible decisions that benefited all parties. Fear of appearing incompetent forced Rotor to make a hasty decision. More than likely frustration also contributed to Rotors’ decision. How might his approach be improved?
