As shown on page 145, one of the signs that you are having credit trouble is if you are getting letters or phone calls from creditors regarding overdue payments. If you are having trouble with credit problems you need to develop a plan for reducing your debt. If your list of financial goals does not already include debt reduction, you should reexamine it to include this goal as a short-term or intermediate-term financial goal.

It is more difficult to pay back the money you have borrowed or used on credit, than it is to make up the debt in the first place, so the sooner you get your credit debts under control, the easier it will be to pay off your debt and keep from drowning in over due bills....
