Analyze a Sociological Issue When people think of current social problems most people think of the housing problems, the economic issues, health issues and job issues. It is rare when people actually think of the elderly and the aging and how all the items listed above actually affect this ever growing social group now and in the future. Sadly age is never thought of ever preserved as a type of discrimination, and yet as people grow older and the economy gets tighter, companies look at the older employees as disposable, or obsolete. The large corporations have found ways to hide this kind of discrimination, and this sadly is widely accepted as normal. Then there is the health care system where unfortunately the aged and aging are finding that many doctors just do not listen, either the doctor thinks the person is too old to understand what is going on or the doctor does not wish to take the time to help the elderly patient to understand. The concept of being old and looking at it as something bad did not start to set into the social mind was in the 1800’s when the industrial age began and industry change America forever. The old were not strong enough or healthy enough to work in these kinds of jobs and found more and more that they were not needed. So here we are today a society and culture where the elderly are no
