Introduction This paper will be discussing and explaining databases in my workplace. There are several different types of databases but I will be explaining only a few of them such as the relational database, hierarchical database, and the flat model database. A database is where data is stored in a neat structured way that users of computers can access at any given time . The advantage of database processing is the data can be stored and secured on the system . Data can be added to the systems database to increase information for the users . The security can be manipulated to only allow certain users to access certain parts of the data that is in the database . The reason to have a database management system is to keep the systems database up to date and to keep the security up to date to protect the data from becoming corrupted or stolen or lost . The flat model database is a single table of data that is hard to manipulate and maintain over a period of time . The flat model database is easy to build because there is
