Infinite Variety  Paul A. Goldberg, M.P.H., D.C., D.A.C.B.N., D.C.B.C.N. Director, The Goldberg Clinic for Chronic Disease Reversal “It takes all sorts to make a world English Proverb Even   after   thirty   five   years   of   working   with   patients   with   chronic   disease   conditions   including  rheumatoid   disorders,   digestive   issues,   chronic   fatigue,   fibromyalgia,   allergies   and   many   other  problems, my practice has remained interesting due to the infinite variety of patients  I encounter each  new day. This diversity has been present whether I have been working in a Hygienic Institute, a hospital  or within our clinic. Understanding each person’s unique attributes is essential to reversing chronic  disease at its roots and restoring a person to vibrant health.  With each new person that walks into our clinic I ask myself not what disease name they have been  labeled (based on their symptoms) but rather  “what makes this person different?  What inherited traits,  combined with what environmental factors, makes this person unique and have led to the development  of their  health issues? What course of action do I need to have the patient take that are specific to his or  her biochemistry and lifestyle   to allow them to recover from chronic disease?”  The unraveling of these questions through an in depth interview, history, examination and laboratory  analysis from a hygienic vantage point, focusing on etiological factors allows the patient to be placed on  the path towards reversing their chronic health problem. It is by specifically addressing each patient’s  individual nature that our clinic’s reputation for successfully reversing chronic degenerative diseases has  been earned. Box Understanding each patient’s biochemical uniqueness is essential to reversing chronic disease and  restoring their health.  We Are All Unique Each of us is different in countless ways. This was acknowledged by many physicians in the past  including Hippocrates who recognized that  “different sorts of people have different types of maladies.”  1

Unfortuantly today medical practice and most “alternative practices” based their “treatments” on the   name given to the patients symptoms rather than to the patient that has those symptoms. The importance of understanding our individual traits was emphasized by John H. Tilden, M.D. (1851- 1940), a reformed medical practitioner who emphasized understanding each person’s predispositions or  diathesis.   He contended that when a patient became weakened it was their individual   diathesis   that  determined the kinds of symptoms that would manifest.
