Embyo Review  4 th  week 28 days  respiratory primordium is present  laryngotracheal groove  end of 4 th  week evaginated to form respiratory diverticulum(the lung bud, pouchlike)  ventral to caudal part  of foregut  diverticulum elongates  tracheal bud  diverticulum separates from primordial  pharynx  longitudinal tracheoesophageal folds develop in diverticulum  form  tracheoesophageal septum  divides cranial part of foregut into ventral(laryngotracheal   opening of tube into pharynx is primordial laryngeal inlet or aperture - Development of Larynx - epithelial lining  endoderm of cranial end of tube  cartilage  cartilages in 4 th th  pairs of pharyngeal arches  laryngeal cartilages  mesenchyme  neural crest cells  rapid growth  of tube  arytenoid swellings  grow toward tongue  T-shaped  laryngeal inlet - epiglottis  caudal part of hypopharyngeal eminence  reached  adult form by age 3 - laryngeal muscles  myoblasts in 4 th th  pairs of pharyngeal arches   innervated by laryngeal branch of vagus nerve -     Development of Trachea   Endodermal lining
