Jasmine Hill November 2, 2011 GEO 101 Housel Glocalization Proposal For my Glocalization paper I have decided to look into Disney. Disney is a company that has multiple areas from television shows, merchandise, and theme parks. I think that it will be interesting to compare how each of these different areas is spread around the world. The country that I want to examine specifically is China. I find it extremely fascinating that a country with such strict limits on its citizens has accepted the Disney phenomena into its culture. I also want to see if Disney changes any of its iconic images (i.e. Mickey and others) to better suit the Chinese culture. 1. Barnes, Brooks. "China Approves Disney Theme Park in Shanghai."
