ANS3319C Exam 1 Review Fall 2011 Exam one will cover the following 1. Lecture notes: Female anatomy, male anatomy, and endocrinology (Pages 1-37). 2. Takehome messages for female anatomy, male anatomy, and brain anatomy. 3. Lab worksheets for female and male histology. The exam will cover function of epithelial cells layers for specific tissues. There will not be any slides from lab. Female Anatomy and Physiology 1. What are the general names of the 4 tissue layers of the reproductive tract (oviduct, uterus, cervix, vagina) and their general functions? 2. List the four components of the broad ligament and describe the functions of each component. 3. Relative to the ovary a. What is the general name of the outer 2/3 and inner 1/3 of the ovary called? b. What are the two main functions of the ovaries? c. What are the four stages of follicle development and their order of maturity? d. What is the main steroid hormone produced by follicles? Which stage of follicle development secretes its? What are the general functions of this hormone on the female reproductive tract? e. Know what the corpus hemorrhagicum, corpus luteum (CL), and corpus albicans are and any hormones that they may secrete. f.
