University Seminar Final: Research paper Water’s Importance to Earth As we all have heard, the earth is about seventy percent water. That makes water one of the most valuable resources on our planet. Every living thing needs some amount of water to survive. That can not be more apparent than on the campus of Texas State University. Texas State students have been provided with ample resources to learn about this resource that no one can not live without. Things such as Sewell Park, Edwards Aquifer, and the Glass-Bottom boats give us insight on the importance of water. We also learn about the San Marcos River because it flows directly through campus. “The unique, spring-fed San Marcos River that runs through campus is a constant visual reminder of the many dimensions and roles that water plays in our lives. Water is one of the most important resources that we have, not only at Texas State, but in the entire world. Water’s beauty and allure seems to attract countless numbers of people each year. Water makes the beaches very popular for spring break and summer vacations. A lot of people choose to vacation in places where there is a nice beach available. If the weather is not so good at home, people go where it is warm just so that they can sit out by the water. According to www.travel.state.gov , a website managed by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, “Over one hundred thousand American teenagers and young adults travel to beaches throughout Mexico over spring break each year.”...
