In many people’s lives, poor choices can stem from a lack of support given to them as a child. In the introduction to the song, Notorious B.I.G says “This album is dedicated to all the teachers that told me I’d never amount to nothin’, to all the people that lived above the buildings I was hulstlin’ in front of and called the police on me when I was just tryin’ to make some money to feed my daughter, and all the people in the struggle.” From the very beginning of the song, you can assume that the writer was hurt. The pain of being abandoned by his teachers and betrayed by the people in his neighborhood only drove him to work harder....
