Hans Eysenck - Whether you received treatment or not 1/3 got better 1/3 got better and 1/3 got worse. Made it seem as though psychotherapy was essentially useless. Meta-analysis- Procedure for statistically combining the results of many different research studies. You can take 50 years of studies and treat them as if they are one gigantic study with 10s of thousands of studies in them. So you can have more statistics in them then the 1/3, 1/3, 1/3.
