Introduction Starbucks Company is a coffeehouse that was founded in 1971; the first store was opened in Seattle’s Pike Place Market and since Starbucks has grown to be a nationally recognized coffeehouse (Starbucks Corporation, 2011). The name Starbucks was inspired by Moby Dick. Starbucks has succeeded with their beliefs to serve the best coffee possible; their primary goal is for all coffee to be grown under the highest standards of quality. Starbucks has brought the Italian coffeehouse tradition back to the United States with a place for conversation and a sense of community. A third place between work and home. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. They offer superior customer service along with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that focus and meet the needs of their everyday consumer. Starbucks mission is a unique one, and that’s to get reach the person and satisfy their human spirit; although their mission is to meet the customer their values are upholding the best products and services that a coffeehouse can offer. Although a coffeehouse, Starbucks serves more than their 30 blends and single- origin premium Arabica coffee. Their products consist of handcrafted beverages, merchandise, fresh foods, Ice cream and ready to drink bottled drinks (Starbucks Corporation, 2011). Within these different products Starbucks offers ice espressos, non- coffee blended beverages, coffees and tea brewing equipment, bottled Frappaccino’s, iced and tea juices as well as super-premium coffee and coffee flavored ice cream (Starbucks Corporation, 2011).
