Week 3 Case Analysis Amazon Voyage Exotic Adventures Inc has been faced with a business predicament in which a decision has to be made quickly. They need to decide whether option A, B or C will provide their company with the least amount of total additional costs while also keeping in mind the safety of their future passengers. Should the voyage expedition depart or cancel? If so, should EAI choose option 2 or 3? Which of the three available options would be least expensive for Exotic Adventure’s, Inc? The Exotic Adventures Inc organized expedition voyages primarily in the Polar regions. The company has a variety of vessels that were used for these types of adventures in particular. The company provided packages in which the air fares from North America, as well as the hotel stay and the voyage as one entire package for their clients. The first (EAI) voyage operated in the Amazon was during March 1997 which offered their guests one voyage upriver and a return voyage downstream (Shaw. 1999). With this type of package offered to their client it would be difficult if there were ever any weather conditions or issues with water levels in which the company would be prohibited from starting and/or continuing on the voyage. The voyages operated on the full navigable length of the river, from Belem, Brazil on the Atlantic coast to Iquitos, Peru, some 2,600 miles inland to the west. The previous voyages were said to have been a success though some of the naturalists said the adventure would most likely be even more exciting during the month of October due to the water levels. Depending on the season, the water levels and weather conditions will vary in any part of the world. These types of
