Brad Rogers BRAE 239 Extra Credit Paper 6-1-10 CORS systems are used by land surveyors to determine position more precisely. They are a great tool to use to greatly increase the accuracy and the precision of your measurements. CORS stations are stations that wirelessly connect with a GPS so that there is a known point and the GPS can more correctly find its true position. There are some issues that arise when using a CORS system though. Some of these problems are that you have a limited range in which you can use a CORS system and if you are out of range from the system then your GPS will not have the precision and accuracy that it would have with the system. Another problem that you can run into with a CORS system is that if you have something in the way or an object blocking your signal then it will keep you from getting the accuracy and precision you would have with a CORS system. Land surveyors use CORS systems everyday and they are a great tool. CORS systems are in a lot of places and they greatly increase how close you get to the true position of where
